"Earth Songs," a fitting name for this Artist. As you will begin to understand why; after listening to just one of his musical creations. Arthur, the Man behind "Earth Songs" has a simple "less is more" approach to his music...in that there are only a hand full of instruments used. Traditional instruments such as the organic sounds of the Cedar Flute, Rain stick, and the occasional Drum beat! But not a detail is missed, and each song is completely unique, with a great depth in sound and spirit! This "Album" of 12 tracks features his inspiring performance of "The Native Flute," and is strongly influenced by the essence of nature. This is one down to Earth spiritual journey through the power of "Native Music," in it's purest form...and will be sure to awaken all the senses! As a Fan of "Earth Songs" for almost 3 Years now, I can easily say that I 'Highly Recommend' a listen to this Artist's work! As this is a GREAT Album, for those seeking true music to meditate by!
Track 1.) Greeting The Morning Star:
I imagine watching the Sun rise on the front porch, with a hot cup of coffee in hand every time I hear this song. It's cool percussive undertones are like the morning dew, while the Melody of the Cedar Flute represents the calm of the morning sky, and crispness in the air of a new day. A sweet and soothing morning treat, much more satisfying then any sweet-roll.
Track 2.) Morning Medicine:
Just what the good doctor ordered...a good start to the day! The mystical tinkling chimes shine way like the endless rays of Morning Sun. Lending it's light to awaken all in it's path...there for the taking for any and all whom will except. The Flute play represents good vibes, for me. Who doesn't enjoy a good Morning? What awaits us in the new day? We will never know for sure...but usually when you start the Morning off on the rite foot, a good day lays ahead! Let the light of this natural "Morning Medicine" warm you.
Track 3.) Heartbeat:
This track opens with Traditional Native Heartbeat Drumming, which continues throughout the song...accompanied by the spirited playing of the Cedar Flute. This a personal favorite of mine off this album; for it's strength and simplicity! This performance is nothing short of breath-taking! With Highs peeking like Snowcapped Mountain Tops, and Lows like the Valleys bellow! Please allow yourself the listen of this inspiring tune...and let it flow freely through your ear drums, beat on into the center of your heart, and let it's message settle deep in your soul; as a reminder of all we take for granted in this World.
Track 4.) Where The Wind Goes:
Panning like 'The Wind'..."Where The Wind Goes," has a feeling of wandering with the wind as it blows. The Panning Effects on the Flute are brilliant in this piece, and not at all over done. The flow is as natural as the wind changes. You could almost hear the wind teasing those Wind chimes!
Track 5.) Spirits Of The Valley:
Taking a walk on the wild side...with the "Spirits Of The Valley" to guide you! Rain, Wind, Fire, Water, Earth, and Animal invite you for a journey you will be glad you ventured. This is one of the Album's more Percussive songs, which I very much enjoy, as a lover of Drumming. The steady beat has an adventurous feeling. It very much grounds this song along side the fanciful Flute work. Like walking an old rocky trail, with nothing but the wonderful sounds of nature dancing all around you!
Track 6.) Take Me There:
This song really moves! The Flute Melody is very heartfelt...and I love how this song ends on a almost delayed note...The sounds of the Bells, and Drum "Take Me There"...to a time long gone. When the Earth was pure and the land was not just a home for us...but a friend we deeply respected! A great message in this piece, I believe!
Track 7.) A Dream Place:
Almost haunting...the cool tone of the Flute and the lingering notes of the Melody will lull you so sweetly into a 'dream' state, in listening to this piece. A true Meditative song if there ever was one! I recommend this one for listening to at home after a long hard day at the office/work...hopefully it will take you to that "Dream Place", where stress hopefully would not be the issue...but how to land on your feet after a long day of flying(in your dreams).
Track 8.) In The Light Of Two Moons:
Here is some more music for the Soul...sharing something so special with your loved ones is always a treasure. Arthur has created this piece one Night, after of witnessing the sight of what looked to be two Moons...along side his closest Family. This song features beautiful Flute work, trickling of the Rain stick, and some more of that wonderful Heartbeat Drumming. This is as Traditional as it gets, musically(in my book)! Along with the warmth and sharing of such a phenomena with Family and friends! You just can't help but to love this story telling through the gift of music!
Track 9.) Alone In The Dark:
Simply Chilling! The Ending Harmonies are eerie, and so unique! This song has it all...from the simple dark undertones...and the Howling of Coyotes...to the haunting Flute Melody; this piece really gives you the feeling of being "Alone In The Dark"!! Though the Human mind is well evolved...we still hold some of the most primal instincts; where our minds' can often play tricks on us. Whether it is seeing or hearing something of the unknown...it; like this song, will send a chill down your spine! I think we all might have experienced thoughts like these...from a fairly harmless bump in the night!
Track 10.) Hear My Heart:
"Hear My Heart" is a true 'Earth Song' in every sense! From the moment I hit the play button, I was taken to another realm! The nature sounds lace though-out this song so nicely, and really lend to the atmosphere! This piece is oh sooo soothing...like a night Thunder Storm! I could almost taste the Rain in the air, as I listen to this tasteful performance of the Cedar Flute. My favorite part of this song would have to be the Loon call via Flute; in the Outro! Very original and advant guard!!!
Track 11.) A Smoke Trail:
Wonderus! The Production quality on this song is utterly fantastic. The Panning, Reverb, and Delayed Effects are done just rite...letting the true sound of the instrument be heard, as it should! The Melody is erie and beautiful as ever...the movement in this piece is very natural and organic. If you can picture what smoke looks like wafting from a fire...this is what it would sound like(just listen)!
Track 12.) Grandfather:
THIS...hands down...is MY favorite Track off of this inspiring Album! Track 12.) Grandfather: What a BEAUTIFUL and VERY Professional 3 way Collaboration!! A sure treat that will imbed it's self in your heart and soul upon listening! I know it has in mine! Just an all around quality work of Art! As if the passionate playing of the Flute wasn't enough...the Spoken Word/Chanting and Drumming adds another level of drama to this touching song! In reading from this song's description; Earth Song's "Grandfather," features 2 outstanding Artists as Collaborators: "David Pendragon," Producer for "The Tribe World Ensemble" whom adds a nice twist with the atmospheric sounds of nature etc(the sound samples used are astonishing...really made me feel like I was actually in the great outdoors!), and "Tyler Swift Buckskin Horse" sings and speaks pure words of insight, inspired by the 'Lakota' People. A must listen! A DEFINITE MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! A lovely ending to this AMAZING Album...of which I could feel, great love was put into!
BRAVO!

Earthsongs / Where the Wind Goes
Earthsongs,
Where The Wind Goes captures the essence of the feel that the wind is passing us and continueing it's unending journey that sees more than anyone can imagine. I really like the spacing of the notes and how they ring on into the distance. The wind chimes are especially effective at the end of the composition as they remind us that the wind is a creator of sound as it rides the land and sea of mother earth in it's own innocence. Where does the wind go ???? Well, I believe that the wind goes on, and on, and on... It seems to never really go anywhere as a final destination. It would seem that the wind continues its journey down through time in a matter of infinity being it's final resting place. Time Eternal is the wind !!!!
Cheers, ZEST
P.S. Very peaceful !!!!!
Greet The Morning Star

A star, This is a moment in time and space recorded for all to visit. The thing about this music is its absolute simplicity, and yet its ability to speak to the heart and trigger the most complex of visions. Here we have someone blowing air into a piece of wood with holes drilled in it, and yet the sound is richer, purer and far more emotive than $1000s of synth equipment has ever achieved. The listener is taken, by the spirit, and led gently towards an image, for each of us the image may be differant, but the essance remains constant. This is music from an ancient place, of ancient meaning, as ancient as the rising of the morning star. It allows me space to contemplate my place in the Great Work, and brings to me the memorys of my ancestors who saw, each day the Morning Star appear, just as it appears each morning to greet MY day.
